The Shepherd’s Hut is a rustic hut which sleeps 4, with a comfortable king-sized bed, and a mezzanine double bed, plus a cosy wood-burner to keep you toasty on cold nights. The hut is completely off-grid: there is a wind-turbine and a solar panel which power the lights and a USB port for charging your phone. Rainwater is collected for the shower and there is an outdoor composting toilet close by.
Inside, there’s a small sink and a portable gas stove with a kettle, and cuttlery and crockery, tea and coffee, plus a small cool box. There’s a fire-pit outside for alfresco cooking, and 2 picnic tables. The hut can be booked for overnight stays from £100 per night, or with the dog-walking in Ruffian Wood for 110mins or more for an extra £15 per hour. Up to two dogs are welcome, so long as they are not from a restricted breed, and they are not reactive, as there will be people walking their dogs in the dog walking area close by.
